According to reports in France, Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez became one of Olympique Lyonnais’ main targets for the winter transfer window.
According to “Sport” magazine, Lyon’s manager is interested in the player’s profile and believe that he could have a big additional value to the team, as they struggle to perform and currently sit 13th in the Ligue 1.
The same source added that this transfer will cost around 35 million pounds since the player is unhappy with his playing time. He wants to revive his career and follow Memphis Depay’s footsteps as the Hollland international used to be a flop at United, but currently is one of the best player in France.
Lyon have previously tried to sign the player however, his club refused to make any negotiations because of its participation in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Mahrez has made only 57 appearances for Manchester City in which he managed to score 15 goals only and his playing time will reduce to even little after Leroy Sane returns from his injury.
