Olympique Lyonnais are ready to make a a shock winter swoop for Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.
The 28-year-old struggles to get into a starting lineup and mostly been used as a substitute in the face of competition from Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane. However he is ready to leave the club this summer and looking for a team where he can get playing time.
Even Pep Guardiola commented on his situation at the club:
“He is a guy we are happy with, but unfortunately I am not kind with him, in the fact I cannot give him the minutes he deserves.”
“So I’m sorry, that’s all I can say.”
Mahrez joined Manchester City last summer for a reported £60million, but the Citizens are ready to let him go for £35m.
Juventus are also keen on signing the Algeria international who won the PFA player of the year trophy few seasons ago, when Leicester won the Premier League, but Lyon remain favourites.
